Bought new from Home Depot for 9. They had opened ALL boxes to confirm they had the lithium batteries -vs- NiCads, then retaped them (to make sure no one had swapped them to cheat the store). Powerful enough for trimming and edging my smallish/medium yard. I run for about 25 minutes weedeating then edgeing and have not come close to running low on juice yet. However the thin line or maybe small motor has barely enough guts to cut through healthy St. Augustine grass runners (not grass blades, but the thick runners) when edging and the wire edging guide does not line up well with the concrete. Using the wire guide makes the line cut about 1-1/2″ into the lawn from the sidewalk, so I keep it folded out of the way and freehand the edging process with the Ryobi. I have to use a corded bladed edger once a month for deep, crisp lines, and use this Ryobi trimmer to touch up the edges weekly. I LOVE the fully adjstable handle length and various handle and head locking angles. The onlythig thatwould make this better wuld be if i came with a compact battery as well, though it is still a great bargain as is considering a regular lithium battery & charger by itself is about .
